Spring is still here

A few weeks have come and gone since my last post, but not much has changed in the weather here in the Northeast.  It is still Spring (see my last post entitled: "Spring has come").  There have been some bright, sunny, warm days, and yet there are plenty of days where I still find myself in need of a jacket.   Here are a few more warm, sunny pictures of our recent adventures!

Dominic and Mikaal playing at the fish pond (with Mikaal's mom-Alejandra...I'm going to miss this lovely lady)

Cherry blossoms - they always come and go too quickly

Out for a stroll at the park

"Popcorn popping on the apricot tree" (for anyone who's familiar with that children's song)

I love these two cuties

Dominic is learning his animal noises.  This is his understanding of: "What does a fish say?"

Dominic's friend Cora.  She is only 2 weeks older then him and they are so cute when they play together

Stay cool mom

Dazed and confused?

He has started to like wearing sunglasses and I am so amused by it!

Dominic loves our neighbor Shyamala.  We spend time with her during the day while her 2 girls are at school

Carson (our friend's son who is a few months younger then Dominic)

Cora and Dominic having a jam session

Our last formal event hosted by Yale's School of Management.  Thanks to our friends Brandon and Katelyn for hanging out with Dominic so we could enjoy the night!

Happy Mother's Day! Michael bought me a beautiful new purse.  He totally surprised me.  I was expecting a delayed celebration because he had been so busy with finals.  What a sweetheart.

We have spent a lot of time looking for apartments in Boston in the past few weeks.  More then anything we are trying to get familiar with Boston itself and all the surrounding cities to figure out which specific areas we would want to live in.

I love the South End

Throwing rocks in Jamaica Pond

a friendly visitor happened upon us while we were throwing rocks

To celebrate the completion of Michael's classes, we went on a camping/rock climbing trip to New Hampshire for a few days.

Our campground.  So beautiful and green.

Loving the tent

After a chilly night, we are excited for a day of rock climbing

Nothing like a big hearty breakfast to set you up for a successful day of climbing (slightly sarcastic-notice the bacon)

Helping me make breakfast

We encountered a pet donkey

Rock Climbing in New Hampshire is beautiful.  Making my way to the Crux of the climb

Pulling the Crux
Making our way up to the area Michael wants to climb.  Tricky.

Michael gearing up for a very difficult climb

It has been a great spring! Stay tuned! Graduation pictures coming soon!

Spring has come

Things I've recently discovered:
  • Dominic LOVES being outside
  • Cherry blossoms always last shorter then I think
  • I will truly miss New Haven when we move
  • It's worth the time and effort to make delicious goat cheese and fresh thyme stuffed Butternut squash shells (plenty of left overs!)
  • If there is a puddle, Dominic will find it and will slosh around in it
  • Dominic loves his friend Mikaal
  • Hard work pays off (more of a rediscovery)
  • I love peach-infused balsamic vinegar (on salads-mmmm!) http://greatoil.com/balsamic_vinegar (a nearby Connecticut company)
  • I love a good lobster roll.  The Connecticut kind-warm lobster on a roll with fresh lemon and butter.  Not to be confused with Massachusetts kind-cold lobster mixed into some kind of mayonnaise salad and put on a bun.
  • Teething means Dominic's angry evil twin emerges for about 1 week. (Molars this past week)
  • Sometimes, no matter how good of a parent you are, your kids can have a melt down

Dominic pushes Mikaal after feeding the fish in the pools

Cherry Blossom fight

I love these two kids

We went to a baseball game for the Bridgeport Bluefish

Dominic wasn't sure how he felt about the oversized blue creature poking him and dancing around

I couldn't stop laughing
(we were looking for a baby shower gift and stumbled upon this little backpack so Dominic ran around the store for a bit with this one-eyed monster flopping around on his back)

First thing in the morning Dominic hops into the bike trailer  wanting to go for a ride.

Division St.  My favorite street in New Haven

Dominic loves beans.  I finally caught a few pictures of him smiling

Dominic and I went for a nature stroll and learned about the local ecosystem.  He loved it.  Dominic can't get enough of the outdoors--Takes after his father.

"hmmm, which rock should I throw first"

He loved throwing rocks in the stream

This week we are packing and preparing for our move to Boston.  Michael graduates later today so stay tuned for graduation pictures! (and farewell New Haven pictures)
